Snow, Coffee, Wine and Jazz

The Susan Jones Trio

Early January 2019, clumps of snow showing the meltdown, while the wind whistles. It’s hump day, and the population is getting restless about the weather conditions, as uncertain as the political climate. “I’m sick and tired and cannot take it anymore!” Actually the movie portrayed it differently, with Peter Finch, in 1976, playing television anchor man, Howard Beale:

Yes, here in Baltimore Md. its restless. We are at the foot of the White House, where that Halloween party continues, while the grounds personnel (Federal employees) were left to raid food pantries.

The Susan Jones Trio

Some took Howard’s advice and went out into the street; took a break for wine, coffee and jazz. I went to see an old friend, violinist SUSAN JONES. She and friends were at the 49th Street Cafe in Annapolis Md.

Susan Jones says “Good night !”

He is six feet four, 220 pounds, massive shoulders, on which stands a head, that if he were to hit you  in a head butt, you might die.

He is angry about the untimely deaths of Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gay, Michael Brown, Eric Garner, his fellow Moors.

“From whence doth such anger emit?” (my words) “SPEAK OF ME AS I AM!” the words of the Moor. Is that not Shakespeare? Wow! Not Ebonics? He felt the discrimination, and is breathing uncontrollably.  His passion is synced with ANDREW GILLUM, who lost the 2018 Florida elections. “WTF!”, he shouted.

He is in love with DESDEMONA, but she is not with him today; he has seen Kanye West with his Desdemona; the Moor began beating his chest several times, more anger, more hate. He thought of O.J. Simpson (once America’s darling) but later like his forefather,(OTHELLO) was brought before the white senate, accused of.. what? ” MURDER !!!” ; the Moor screamed again “MOTHER F!!!!!”

I’m in Anacostia, southEast Washington D.C. The name of the play is AMERICAN MOOR, starring KEITH HAMILTON COBB.

I have run into all kinds of kindred claiming to be Moorish American. Okay Moors, here’s your play. Black Muslims who shout “as salaam alaikum”, here’s your chance through February 3rd, 2019, at the Anacostia Playhouse.

Transgression for Fun

Privileged kids live a life that is quite obtuse from reality, that on close examination, it is scary. We have some members of the famous Kennedy family of Massachusetts, who became involved in questionable circumstances, taking the family name through the eyes of scrutiny.

The current leader of the free world has epitomized the degradation of what privilege exemplifies. For some that status has not hurt their peers, associates or subordinates. For that I turn to one of Maryland’s famous sons, who has gained fame and fortune riding the wave of making fun at sexual transgression, JOHN WATERS. At 18, at his parents’ home in Lutherville Md., he had the privilege of making movies, that the Pope would not say prayers for to move them from purgatory to a state of consideration for sacrament.

When one considers his movies as PINK FLAMINGO, HAIR SPRAY, and his main actor, DIVINE, (a cross dresser)

John Waters interpretation of the control Ike had on Tina during their tenure. John is happy with her revolution.

, it is easy to conclude JOHN WATERS,   has a skewed insight to the normal understanding of beauty, sex and morality.

The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) has been running an exhibition entitled INDECENT EXPOSURE. It’s a look  inside the mind of John Waters, (a septuagenarian) his motivation, and what his thinking is today. The following is what we learned:

DIVINE with Katherine Hepburn, a highly unlikely pose, but for the trickery of John Waters

What is it? By definition it is a covered walk to a monastery, cathedral or castle. A castle? In Maryland?

The answer is in the affirmative, and this one is sitting high in the hills of Lutherville Maryland, like a king overlooking his 60 acre domain.

Built in the 1930’s, its palatial construction throws back to the European aristocracy, when horse drawn carriages with footmen, were in fashion.

SUMNER and DUDREA PARKER designed and built this castle, which is now managed by a state agency. Let us take the trip together:
